On Sunday, June 14, Dr. Yu Hye-mi of BIO Plastic Surgery won the Grand Prize and the Innovation Award at the "Annal Aesthetics Academy 2026" with Merz Aesthetics, an academic event held in Hyatt Regency, Paradise City, Incheon.

The Annual Aesthetics Academy, organized by global aesthetics company Merz Aesthetics, brings together medical professionals to share the latest clinical research and treatment trends. This year's awards were determined by direct audience vote among attendees, making on-site presentation quality and persuasiveness key criteria for selection.

Dr. Yu Hye-mi presented research on " Regenerative CaHA for the forehead-Scalp transiction zone: A novel indication". Radiesse, a filler composed of Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA), is well known for its collagen-stimulating properties in skin tissue. However, clinical studies exploring its regenerative potential in the scalp have remained scarce ? a gap that made Dr. Yu Hye-mi's research particularly noteworthy.

As a result of the participant's vote on the same day, Dr. Yu Hye-mi was selected as the best poster and won the Grand Prize and the Innovation Award. This is evaluated as the result of being recognized by experts for both the novelty of the presentation topic and the completeness of the research.

Dr. Yu Hye-mi said in her acceptance speech, "I'm delighted that so many colleagues resonated with my research into expanding the use of Radiesse into scalp regeneration. Going forward, I hope to build on a larger body of clinical data and help establish this as a practical therapeutic option."
